For sale is a a fine cobalt spinel specimen from Vietnam. Featuring a gorgeous cobalt spinel crystal group, from Vietnam. We recently had the good fortune to be able to purchase the small collection of top cobalt spinel crystals from the owner of the mine, the only one in Vietnam producing these vibrant gems. As I know from a very recent visit to Vietnam these quality specimens, which were never abundant, have now been found for a number of years now. It should be noted that gemstones cut from this material (higher in clarity, but not in color) rarely exceeded 1 ct in size, today small gems between 2 to 3mm , sell in the local Luc Yen gem market at approx USD$300. Please note SIZE of this specimen, try and find a pic on the web anywhere of comparable quality material, these are rare.
