The crystal is in pristine condition and has a fine luster. Matrix spinel specimens are a degree rarer than none matrix specimen, and this specimen with it display crystal, vividly contrasting with the snow white matrix, has that special “Wow” factor.

For sale is a fine purplish red, razor sharp spinel crystal, from Luc Yen, Vietnam. This supberb crystals sits proud at the apex of the specimen, for maximum visual impact. The crystal is in pristine condition and has a fine luster. Matrix spinel specimens are a degree rarer than none matrix specimen, and this specimen with it display crystal, vividly contrasting with the snow white matrix, has that special “Wow” factor. We obtained this specimen on our recent visit to Vietnam, where we found it has become rather difficult to source good matrix specimen, whether this is because the whole production is going to China, or production is greatly reduced, Im not really sure. All I can say is that we were offered much less material, and at a higher price than any of my previous six trip to this location.
