For sale is a top rhodochrosite slice, from Argentina. A superb sliced of rhodochrosite from Argentina that has sharp features as well as bands of red, pink and white. The rhodochrosite was deposited in hydrothermal veins in thin layers and multiple rings, and the thin stripes of color are characteristic of rhodochrosite that grew as annual growth rings in the form of stalactites and flow stone. The darkish silvery mineral at the base is sphalerite.

The rhodochrosite was deposited in hydrothermal veins in thin layers and multiple rings, and the thin stripes of color are characteristic of rhodochrosite that grew as annual growth rings in the form of stalactites and flow stone. The darkish silvery mineral at the base is sphalerite. This mine is probably the oldest working mine in South America, going back many many centuries.
