For sale is a very fine sized and colored calcite rose from Tindal quarry, Kyogle. First I have to say this specimen is way better than the pics indicate. The size along makes this an important Australian calcite specimen. Then you have the fact that this important old locality is no longer in existence, it has been rehabilitated for a housing estate. As you can see from the pics the piece is a eye pleasing lemon yellow color. This specimen is in excellent condition (probably could do with a clean) especially considering the hardness of the basalt it came from, and the associated difficulty of extraction. Ex the late Norman and Jocine Robinson collection, Ballina. These calcite roses, very very rarely were seen in sizes like this. Please remember our prices are in Australian dollars.
