For sale is a fossil shell from Australia. First of all I have never seen this particular species from this location before, and secondly the size is outstanding. Transparent, colorless gypsum has pseudomorphed this shell, this on its own is extraordinary, as the age of the specimen is approx 15 million years. The fact that a rather soft mineral like gypsum, has survived this long is quite amazing. As far as I know this is the only location worldwide to show this unique phenomena. I just love it!
