For sale is a calcite crystal from the historic Garibaldi mine, Nth, NSW. This famous location was mined nearly 100 years ago, one vug was reported to be 21 metres x 4.8 metres x 2.7 metres with Calcite crystals to more than 60nn in size. These old specimen were packed into individual cedar, tailor made boxes, for shipment of Germany, to be used as optical calcite. Today any specimens are rare, crystals of this size, very rare.

These old specimen were packed into individual cedar, tailor made boxes, for shipment of Germany, to be used as optical calcite. Today any specimens are rare, crystals of this size, very rare. We obtained this specimen from Sue Wearden, who acquired it from an old collection.
