For sale is a very nice turquoise nugget from Australia’s best location for this mineral, Amaroo Station, N.T. Today good examples of nice saturated blue turquoise are hard to come by, this is because the location was basically mined out in the late 1960s, with the vast majority been exported straight to the USA, be sold as local material. This was done to supply the great demand in the USA, and the limited supply available from local sources. (private communication from Chris Parkinson, who along with John Wolfe, were the claim holders who mined the material). This specimen features good robins egg blue colored material, and the nugget has a good spread of evenely colored tourquoise, there is some quartz associated. This specimen has been tumbled polished. In reality the color is just a shade less saturated than the pics indicate.
