This is a great tabular (tabby) quartz from a new find at Stanthorpe, Qld. This smoky quartz has great phantoms particularly on the rear (see pic). This came from a very recent find and is quite a distinctive piece, with its clear to white top and strong rear phantom, the third factor is the very thin nature of the specimen compared to its width, (see last pic). There are some straight line marks on the front of the crystal, this is not damage or dings, I can only assume they came from some crystals of something (possibly feldspar) that sat there in the pocket a long time ago. This is the only specimen we have similar to this and in this large size! Please remember our prices are in Australian dollars.
