On this beautiful specimen, the sphalerite crystal is large, lustrous and well formed, and the pyrite cubes are the secondary species, forming the base matrix of the piece, this is a little uncommon for this classic locality. The color is a a shiny jet black. The main sphalerite crystal is a very respectable 31mm across, and is way way better in person. It should be noted that this is a particularly large sphalerite from Huanzala mine. This piece is Ex Demetrius Pohl collection, ex Paul Melville collection.
