Product Description

For sale is a sweet, green smithsonite , most likely cuprian variety, from Tsumeb mine, Namibia. The undamaged fine crystals appear to be the rare pseudo dodecahedral form. Great luster and excellent distribution on a solid matrix. The specimen is mounted on a display stand. This Smithsonite variety cuprian,  came from an old collection in Newcastle, shown by the description on the base Tsumeb, S.W.Africa.  Under magnification this is stunning. There is one interesting thing about this, you may have noticed a number of hoppered or hollow crystals scattered about the smithsonite specimen, I am really not sure what they are or even what has happened here, a  couple of them appear to pre date the smithsonite.
