For sale is a classic Broken Hill, smithsonite on coronadite. First I have to say, that this smithsonite is way way better in person. Smithsonite is a zinc carbonate, and was probably the most abundant mineral found on the Broken Hill lode. Of the many forms the mineral took, the most classic form is probably these white to pale grey translucent balls or spheres, near perfect in form, almost always occurring on jet black coronadite. In this case the coronadite takes the form of very thin blades, most uncommon, in my opinion. The shimmering sheen from the surface of these spheres is just stunning. Ex J and P Kinder collection, (Adelaide). Please remember our prices are in Australian dollars.
