This is a silver (spinel twinned) from Elura Mine, Cobar, NSW. This mine famous for its mimetites, has also produced these distinctive silver specimens. No new specimens have been seen on the market for many years. This one was obtained from the late Albert Chapman (Australia’s best known collector), in Glebe, in 1988.
