For sale is a secondary galena from Broken Hill, NSW. I must say this is my all time favorite type of galena. Broken Hill has arguably the finest secondary galena in the world. Secondary galena forms from the breakdown of the original primary minerals, and subsequent crystallization. The sulfur yellow color associated with this specimen is a disordered wurtzite, with a vivid fluorescence. If you are interested in this specimen it worthwhile doing a bit of research , to see just how little this material has been studied and actually how amazingly uncommon this material is! This is in pristine condition and fully crystallized, interestingly the predominant crystal shape is triangular. Pics show front rear and top of the specimen.
