For sale is a schalenblend from Broken Hill, NSW. These coatings are usually called secondary Sphalerite rather then Schalenblende but they do also contain Wurtzite and usually include secondary galena. This specimen which has been polished to show the unique form, is quite uncommon, its actually the first I have ever seen in this form from Broken Hill. Collected from the “watercourse” area pf Browns Shaft in 1970. Ex John Toma collection, ex James Melville collection, (with label). The cream areas have outstanding orange/yellow fluorescence under U V light, indicating this is the wurtzite areas. The secondary galena can be viewed in the last pic on the top of the specimen. Rare. Please remember our prices are in Australian dollars.
