For sale is a very uncommon rhodochrosite from Broken Hill, NSW. First of all is the color, this color saturation is rarely seen from this location, a great pastel pink. The botryoidal rhodochrosite, (on closer examination they are actually spheres that have grown close to each other), sits nicely in the center of the specimen. Surrounded by concentric bands of kutnahorite and calcite. There is also some associated quartz, and quite abundant sturtite, particularly on the rear of the piece. The unusual combination of colors make for an attractive specimen. Ex Neil Smith collection (ex Vic MinSoc).
