This is a great old specimen of renierite from Tsumeb mine, Namibia. Renierite is a very rare germanium sulfosalt species. The bronze orange color is pretty unique to this mineral. This specimen has been XRD identity confirmed. Cutting thru the piece is small veins of germanite (type locality Tsumeb) . This is a real bonus as this mineral has only been found at three locations worldwide! This specimen has been cut and polished on the base to enable close observation of these two rare species (see pic). The specimen comes ex John Bormer collection, who collected it himself at Tsumeb mine in 1955. Ex Jim Sharpe collection. These Tsumeb renierite specimen do not come up for sale often. Try and find another for sale for Tsumeb on the web. Please remember our prices are in Australian dollars.
