This is a quartz group from Torrington, NSW, mined by Shawn Mason, about one year ago. The interesting thing about this highly lusterous, transparent quartz group is the red brown inclusions, particularly the large inclusion in the left hand crystal. As to what it is, my guess is goethite, but its only a guess. What ever the inclusion in the quartz it is, it is rather uncommon for the Torrington district, I have handled many many Torrington quartz, but this is the first time I have seen such a large inclusion of this material!!
