For sale is a pyrophyllite specimen from Gundagai, NSW. Interestingly pyrophyllite is the only clay mineral that forms crystals, here the radiating foliated crystals, form star bursts, and flash amazingly, (making it a little hard to photograph) .Pyrophyllite is an aluminum silicate mineral with a similar chemical structure to talc (a magnesium silicate). It is non-plastic yet clay-like and often used in ceramic bodies to decrease thermal expansion and moisture expansion during service. Exquisite starbursts!!
