PYRARGYRITE – FREIBERG -EX MARK FEINGLOS COLLECTION

For sale is a classic old European specimen of pyrargyite from Freiberg, Germany. Highly lustrous crystal with a silver glow, and a couple of small areas showing red color, sit on matrix. Matrix specimens are not very common from this old location. Classic and excellent old-time  material from this historic district. I would guess that this specimen is well over 100 years old, thou I can not prove it. Mark Feinglos was a very knowledgeable and enthusiastic amateur mineralogist, he was  the second recipient of the Pinch Medal in 2003. Rob Lavinsky acquired this piece from Mark, he then sold it on to Paul Melville, more than twenty years ago, we obtained it from Paul, in 2019.  Comes with an old Arkenstone and Paul Melville labels.Please remember our prices are in Australian dollars.
