For sale is a glendonite of good size from Wallaby Gully, near Cessnock, NSW. This calcite has pseudomorphed a floater, spray of the original ikaite specimen. These specimens start out as ikaite which is calcium carbonate (calcite), but with a handful of water molecules attached to it. Once the ikaite reaches a temperature above 6°C , it pseudomorphs into calcite. This is a permanent change, that makes this unique and interesting material. This grey colored piece, has unusually extended lobes. I have always felt these specimens have an almost pre historic appearance.
