For sale is a kornerupine crystal on matrix from Mt Riddock station, N.T. Featuring a terminated crystal, (very uncommon for the location) of a greyish black green color. The crystal is definitely on the large size for this location, and also on a world scale this is big. To quote Kim McDonald on Mindat, “Kornerupine crystals are uncommon and those collected at Mount Riddock Station probably represent the largest crystals of the species ever collected. “. This specimen sits in a schistose biotite granite. These came out many years ago now, approx thirty years, none have been seen on the market since. The main crystal is 55mm long.
