Here is an old time classic kidney ore, a variety of hematite, from Florence mine, Cumbria, UK. This is a lustrous and very fine large specimen of hematite from northern England. It displays flashy luster and the botryoidal bubbles have good three-dimensional development. The color is a bright reddish silver . The edges show the banded formation of the hematite. (not shown in the pics). Pieces of this size and quality have become hard to find , because the mine is no longer operating, and they are very attractive and not too expensive. Please remember our prices are in Australian dollars, so AUD$100 is actually less than $70 US. Please compare our prices to other similar specimens!! Ex Brian Hutchinson collection, Brian was born in England and pick this specimen up in the late 1960s on one of his many trips back to England.
