For sale is a fossil gypsum replace turitella, from Waikerie, S.Aust. An attractive and unusual specimen of marine Turitella snail shells pseudomorphed by gypsum. The pseudomorphs have the classic and characteristic tightly coiled form that looks like an elongated cone and are over 10 million years old. I have to note that fossil with gypsum replacement are not at all common. This is possibly because they need a very stable environment, other wise they are eroded easily! Many years ago these use to be seen quite often for sale, but today, they are rarely available.
