Garnet in biotite schist from Starolite Ridge, Broken Hill, NSW. A fine display of lusterous almandine garnet crystals to 15mm all display crystals are complete, a couple have a small amount of mica on the odd face. Its hard to tell, but there may be the occasional staurolite crystal associated. This is a typical nice specimen from this location not often seen. A good example of garnet on matrix from Australia. This comes from a very old Sydney collection
