For sale is a ferrimolybdite, from Glen Eden, NSW. Ferrimolybdite is a rare secondary mineral occurring in the oxidized zones of hydrothermal vein and porphyry-type molybdenum-bearing deposits, commonly its a alteration product of molybdenite. This mineral is hydrated iron molybdate. Specimens from Glen Eden are pretty rare, as this was only a minor mining occurrence. This piece was collected by and from the collection of the late Keith Greggson, Torrington. This specimen has a excellent display of this uncommon species. Im sorry it was very difficult to capture the true color of this specimen, in reality the color is lemon with a hint of green. The crystals form, (not easily seen in the pics is a classic radiating sheath like. Great specimen.
