This is a dolomite on matrix from Knowles quarry, Mudgee, NSW. Transparent dolomite such as this can be considered a rarity from Australia, and from NSW an extreme rarity. The crystals have a small amount of a secondary mineral on some edges, and the dolomite has a fine very light honey color, at the top to clear color at the base. We obtained this specimen at a NSW Mineralogical Society swap evening, about 10 years ago. Specimens from this location are uncommon, the site is not even recorded on Mindat, but I confirmed the location with the previous owner.
