A small but very vivid single crocoite crystal on matrix, from the Red Lead Mine, Dundas, Tas. Sorry I did not realize the cotton wool was on the specimen till after I took the pics. A very translucent crocoite crystals sits proud on a limonite matrix. This material came out more than 35 years ago. Crocoite crystals this thick have not been found in Tasmania for a very long time now. The Red Lead crocoite mine is arguable the equal most famous crocoite mine in Australia. Please note the size of the specimen. As an aside crocoit is the state mineral for Tasmania. It came from the Christo Lees collection in Hobart. Please remember our prices are in Australian dollars.
