For sale is a large cerussite crystal from Broken Hill, NSW. This piece was purchased by Bernie Whyte, he acquired it from Don McColl of Adelaide in 2002. As you can see from the pics there is also some arrow head twins, as well as some small reticulated cerussite associated. The dark material is coronadite. These old time pieces features silky pearly lustre, which changes in some area to a fine translucent clear, (not easily seen in the pics) with a hint of yellow, probably not quite as much as the pics indicate. cerussite crystals from the famous Broken Hill lode. The large crystal size is uncommon, please check Mindat pics for comparison. This is unusually fine in aesthetics for this locale. Contrasting beautifully with the silky color is an encrustation of dark coronadite. This is a fine classic specimen. Very rare on the market, this is by far the largest single crystal I have handled. Stands well for display. Please remember our prices are in Australian dollars. Please NOTE this piece is much more silky white than the yellow the pic show, thanks. This specimen comes from Don McColl, Red Centre Rocks and Minerals, and was the feature piece in his Autumn Catalogue, May 2009.
