Cassiterite on quartz from the now almost lost Glen Eden Mine, via Dundee, NSW. Featuring two fine cassiterite crystals on a rather shattered quartz. There is a little confusion over this location, the lable says only Glen Eden, but a note on the back of the label says Severn River Tin Mine, Dundee, NSW, the two locations are reasonable close together, but personally I think Severn River Mine is the correct location, as Glen Eden deposit is a similar deposit to Kingsgate, (molybdenite and bismuth) where as Severn River is a cassiterite location! Highly lustreous cassiterite crystals with some degree of gemmyness! There is some white feldspar between the quartz. Ultra rare location. Ex John Rankin collection.
