For sale is a rarely seen form of quartz, capped quartz, this comes from Holders Rd Trowutta, Tas. The name capped quartz comes from the fact that there are two parts to the crystal, that can be separated and put back together! This came about when the growth of the original quartz was interrupter by a deposition of clay(usually) during its growth process. An unusual feature of this specimen is that the capped is towards the base of the specimen, the first time I have ever seen this. Collected by and from the collection of Frank and Trudy Godney. This is a nice specimen of Australian quartz. These are not seen often in the market, if at all. Great size, and nice terminated cap , not too common.
