For sale is an attractive group of bladed azurite crystals, with a few crystals of a very rare mineral for the location baryte scatter among the lush blue azurite. This is a quite unusual specimen for the location (thats why I bought it). First of all the azurite shows only the slightest malachite replacement ( just the very tips of a few blades) quite uncommon as must specimen are fully malachite replaced. Secondly is the tabular crystals of clear baryte scattered about, this mineral is not even listed from this locality on Mindat! The baryte crystals are not real easy to see, thou they are the same size as the azurite crystals, but one can be seen in the center of the last pic. The color is a mid-blue for azurite, not too dark as to be hard to view, but a rather beautiful saturated blue. The condition of the crystals is excellent! Comes with an old label (from the early 1970s) ex Brian Hutchinson collection. This is a fine and uncommon example of Australian azurite, from an historic location. Please remember our prices are in Australian dollars, USD$0.58 is equal to AUD$1.00.
