The New Cornwall mine is an obscure old mine that is renowned for producing the worlds finest atacamite specimen. (See Mineralogical Record. March/April 2019, pages 169 to 199). This material is extremely hard to come by today, not hard to understand as the mine was in its productive period in the mid 1860s. None the less its reputation has not been dimmed. This gorgeous piece features a mass of well defined razor sharp atacamite crystals, with a good light the crystals are a sweet translucent emerald green on edge. This specimen is basically solid atacamite crystals, with a little tenacious white clay, still adhered. Please NOTE size of specimen. Please remember our prices are in Australian dollars.
