For sale is a gryphaer fossil, from England. Gryphaea, common name Devil’s toenails, is a genus of extinct oysters, marine bivalve mollusks (oyster). In times gone by as the name implies they were thought to be devils tonails, long before anybody had an understanding of fossils. Approximately 200 million years old. Classic material, classic location. This is the last of these classics we have left. These are more than 150 million years old! Ex Brian Hutchinson collection. With original old label.
